Every month starts with the promise of something new. βNew month, new me, new intentions.β
The year is coming to an end and planners for 2022 are already on the shelves in bookstores. Giving us hope for a better tomorrow.
I love planning and I love planners: clean new pages to write down goals and dreams π.
When I was in my teens and early 20βs cellphones were becoming a thing of necessity, I would write down all the text messages I would get π. Was I a type of nerd? Yes, yes I was.
I wrote down the messages to hold on to memories, and also to remember conversations that were had. I read ab them now and laugh.
The reality is that we get so focused on planning for the future and trying to hold on the the memories of the past that we often forget to live in the present and enjoy the now.
When was the last time you took the time to appreciate the things around you? To appreciate the person that you are becoming? To take the time to just be?
The world we live in glorifies being busy and having 101 things to do, somehow we have tied our self worth with how much we can accomplish and how much those accomplishments can bring in wealth.
Donβt get me wrong, be productive and get that cash.
However what will it gain when after all is said done there is no one to enjoy it with?
The relationships we often take for granted are the ones that pinch the mist when they are gone.
Call your parents more if you still can,
Make time for your siblings.
Reach out first to your friends ( there is no embarazzment in texting first).
No one is perfect (including us π)
There is a new month upon us and a new year slowly creeping closer.
If we really want to set new goals and change the attitudes that we currently have to accomplish what we truly desire then we need to start being honest with ourselves and calling out our own shortcomings.
May November bring you new hope.
May November renew your spirit.
May November allow you to love intentionally and receive love.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
-Proverbs 13:12-
