Hello September

September has always been my favorite month. No it’s not  my birthday month 😆 .  September to me shows promise, it shows the birthing of new ideas and strangely it’s like my new year, a time of new birth and new beginning.

September brings promise of newness whether the beginning of a time to reap or a time to ready the crop to plant.

But subtle shifts and changes are all around. The ideology of yourself at the beginning of the year is not what you currently sit with. If we focus on all

the mistakes and problems we went through, it might feel like oh my what a horrible year it’s been. If we focus on only the achievements and happy moments we have been through we might thing yaaasss this year has been amazing, I am the things!

But if we look at all that we have been through holistically we will see that we are human and this is life. Being able to live  in duality of pain and joy, suffering and blessings, hope and disappointment … that is life.

It’s not about trying to avoid the problems and trying to paint a picture perfect life but embracing that difficult times, sitting with the pain and opening yourself up to receive goodness and happiness.

Ever felt guilty for feeling happy when you have gone through a difficult patch or lost someone? Almost as if it’s not deserving to smile: I should be grieving … I shouldn’t be allowed to feel this happiness.

I have been there, finding it difficult to allow myself to move on and smile, feeling guilty to celebrate the wins when going through the storms.

It reminded me of an old song that goes:

“I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden, along with the sunshine. There is gonna be a little rain sometime.”

And isn’t that the truth? If the sun shone all the time the plants would wither and die… if it rained all the time the plants would flood and drown.

Each season in our lives is important, the pain and the joy. The hardships and the wins: because each season brings a uniqueness that can not be experienced any other time. And in all the changes and differences it allows you to grow.

As September ushers in a new season take the time to soak it in and enjoy the lessons and the wins because they don’t last forever. Nothing does … not even pregnancy 😆, at some point you have to give birth.

So take a chance on yourself, birth those new ideas, dream, bloom and spread your wings and soar.

There is newness coming…

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

-Isaiah 43:19-
