Since having Beatrice Schultz as my mentor, she has impacted my life in ways no words could truly describe. I am like a car and sometimes my car runs out of fuel and she is always there to top it up when I am unable to. I have never met anyone who has wanted to see me succeed in life the way she has. Beatrice propelled me forward by always pushing me to do the things that inspire me. On many occasions she has been the person to share information with me, that always aligns with my interests. She taught me how to take care of my hair, how to take up space, how to ooze confidence and how to stand in my truth.
In October of 2019, she sent me an advert for a MILLI Namibia competition, whereby I had to make a 1 minute short film about what I love or hate about social media. I would never have seen that advert had she not sent it to me. I ended up winning second place for that competition. Till this day she continues to send me competition ads. Not only that, but she also challenges me to do things I would think I cannot do and she would reassure me that I can. Sometimes I assist with the ad videos for Future Females Swakopmund. When the events were still physical, I would assist with the technical part of things and I would take photographs. I would simultaneously be in my comfort zone with one, while out of my comfort zone with the other and I always learn so much being in her presence. I can recall the number of times that she and I have had conversations that some would deem difficult to have, yet because of how effortlessly she creates safe spaces, I was able to utter words without fear of being judged.
She is an educator on life, career, relationships etc.and she does it all with a big smile and an extremely warm heart. She truly is brilliance personified.
